Building strength, balance, power and grace from within
Especially for Equestrian
Can you post a trot for 15 minutes? How long can you stay in a jumping position? Like any performance athlete, casual riders or those who ride for shows need to be in top shape to perform at their best. It helps the rider and it is better for the horse! If you have ever had to carry a sleeping child vs. a wide awake child on piggy back you can feel the difference.
A strong core, thighs and calves are critical to performing well. This can be accomplished with Pilates exercise and general strength training aimed at building power-endurance. If done properly, strength training will build strength without adding bulk.
Tight hip flexors: Many riders develop tight hip flexors (the muscles in the front of the hip) because the sport requires tension on a flexed muscle. Walking programs and Yoga are great for stretching out the hips.
